Pain ♖

So Much Pain.      So much suffering. And all for what? What purpose does it relay? What message does it bring? Did Van Gogh feel this destructive? Did Beethoven lose his mind instead? Did all the greatest minds of the world, at one point or another, channel their pain into their art? Or is it just meant to consume me instead?      The constant battle of everyday life is something that is challenging to say the least. Not necessarily the will to live- make no mistake, I very much wish to remain alive- however, the pain of repeating the same patterns, day after day after day.        How does one escape the endless cycle? How does one break the chains of madness which have engulfed my mind? The answers seem to keep slipping away, as I slowly try to grasp them. Perhaps I am simply not meant to fully understand what it is that is eating me away.      The mind is a torture device, when you live instead an iron cell. The ...

Sunday Thoughts 💭

Which Is Worse- To Kill or be Killed?      Which is Better- To Out-Monster the Monster?      Which decision will you make?      Life has a way of forcing us to make impossible choices. The art of cornering man into a room, and making him believe that he has no other option. No other option, to go left or right. No other option, to live from one extreme to another. That man, once the freest animal of them all, is suddenly no longer in control.      We are a strange species. From the very genes of those who rose up, and conquered the known land. To beings who now willingly enslave themselves to a foreign creature. Willingly sacrifice their time and effort, chasing after a promise that may never show. Living life in accordance to somebody else’s playbook, all the while telling ourselves that in the end, it will all be worth the pain.      The hypocrisy kills me. The thought of taking your one chance at life, and was...

Thoughts From The Abyss 🌘

If You Knew You Couldn’t Lose- What Would You Do?      Seriously, think about it. If you knew you couldn’t lose- what would you do?      Would you run to the casino and gamble away until you couldn’t carry any more chips? Would you pick up a sport you loved as a child, and become the greatest to ever play? Or would you simply approach that girl, you’ve been obsessed with for years, and finally make her your wife?      The question is thought-provoking, to say the least. The idea of being able to accomplish all that you wish, is something greater than winning the lottery. A feeling of invincibility, giving you the confidence to move in a way you’ve never experienced before.      Yet here we stand, lost in thought, afraid to make a mistake. Here we sit, waiting for life to happen to us, instead of going on and making it. Here we lie, day-dreaming about a million outcomes which will never show their face.    ...

Dream of Californication 🌴

Dream of Californication.      Space may be the final frontier, but it’s made in a Hollywood basement. Sometimes life isn’t about understanding why we act a certain way. Sometimes, life is simply about acting. Just doing as we see fit, and moving forward with it. Not spending too much time, overthinking it and trying to calculate our every step. Perhaps there is more to being vulnerable than simply sitting around trying to plan it all out. The old saying goes- man makes plans, and God laughs.      Something about the West Coast calls my name, over and over again. I don’t know what it is. The magic over there is something that I just can’t seem to shake from my mind. Which is insane, seeing as I already did my tour. I’ve spent my time over there. And yet, after all this time- I still long to return to it. I still long for the beaches and the Ocean. I long for the weather and the people. Not necessarily the individuals themselves, but simply the happy ...

Cherry Cola 🍒

I Had A Dream.      Last night, I was riding a bus. We were headed back from the city. And in my dream, I was drinking a refreshing can of Pepsi. Suddenly, I woke up. I looked around my room, to gather my myself as I emerged from the void called a dream. And suddenly, it hit me- I needed to drink a Pepsi.      Now unfortunately, I was unable to find a Pepsi, as I did not have any in stock. However, what I did find was a nice, cold can of Cherry Coke. Thanking God, I grabbed the can and returned to my humid room, sweating along the way there. Finally, upon returning, I opened the fresh can, echoing a massive pop as the aluminum top cracked under the pressure. I fired up a video game, and enjoyed my time all alone in the late hours of the morning. I loaded Donkey Kong Country: Diddy Kong’s Quest, and enjoyed my beverage. I that moment, life was good. In that moment, I found myself again.      Moral of the story? Drink soda at 2am and pla...
