Thoughts From The Abyss 🌘

If You Knew You Couldn’t Lose- What Would You Do?

Seriously, think about it. If you knew you couldn’t lose- what would you do?

Would you run to the casino and gamble away until you couldn’t carry any more chips? Would you pick up a sport you loved as a child, and become the greatest to ever play? Or would you simply approach that girl, you’ve been obsessed with for years, and finally make her your wife?

The question is thought-provoking, to say the least. The idea of being able to accomplish all that you wish, is something greater than winning the lottery. A feeling of invincibility, giving you the confidence to move in a way you’ve never experienced before.

Yet here we stand, lost in thought, afraid to make a mistake. Here we sit, waiting for life to happen to us, instead of going on and making it. Here we lie, day-dreaming about a million outcomes which will never show their face.

The truth is, imagining things is always the easy part. Pretending that your life is amazing, is a fairly simple task. The amount of effort and sacrifice required for that to happen, is very minimal. Yet regardless, we all get caught doing it now and then. Why is that? Why do we waste so much time, wishing for something to be?

Waking up to your reality is one of the most powerful things you can do. Unplugging yourself from the constant rat-race, where we run around chasing nothing, is key. Finally understanding that each individual is exactly that- an individual- is the beginning of a great adventure.

Make no mistake- disconnecting is not pleasant. In order to come to consciousness- there must be pain. The abandonment of old beliefs and lifestyles, in exchange for something greater. The casting of ones former self, in order to fully expand into who you wish to be. The shedding of your skin that you’ve come to know and love so well, in exchange for something greater than you could ever dream.

Pain is necessary in order to awake. Any man or woman who chooses to escape their pain is nothing more than a coward. A child, trapped in a grown body, too afraid to truly face their shadow. A sad excuse of a human being, who dares not peer into the void to discover what they see.

The darkness is blinding for those who fear what they will find inside. The inevitable sense of no longer being in control, driving one into insanity. The very fear of death, viciously attacking ones mind long before the physical form arrives. The slow and steady bleed, as the blood drips down from ones soul into nothingness.

Only a coward dares not confront the darkness within. Only a fool believes that there is nothing for them inside. Only a child believes that there is nothing more to life.

I ask yet again, what would you do if you knew you could not lose? What would you strive to achieve?

The answer you seek, lies directly within your dreams. The very visions you claim, lodged inside your brain. The goals and ambitions, hidden away in plain sight within. Yet only the brave succeed.

Intelligence is not enough for success. It requires tremendous pain. It requires the ability to face the shadows, and stand tall in their presence. To allow the void to know exactly what it is you’ve come to claim. To shout into the nothingness, more afraid of failing than facing the unknown. The courage to rightful seize what is yours, as it floats continuously within your brain.

Be brave enough to dream it. Be brave enough to see. Yet, be bold enough to grab it by the neck as it comes bulldozing towards your frame. Fear not the failure which may lay ahead of you. Embrace it. Understand that they are simply there to test your will. But instead, fear only of living a life half as great as you dreamed.

Because only those who are not afraid to lose,

are truly free to succeed.
