A Warrior's Ballad 🎵

The Eve of Battle.      Silence. All I can hear is silence. Along the cold, empty fields which lay ahead. Not a single sound upon the horizon, to break the veil of stillness which consumes the world.      I look forward to battle. I keep my mind calm, knowing that things will soon be in motion. I appreciate the little things, as I know that my life is about to take a change forever. I keep my mind as clear as I can, understanding the task which is currently at hand. I close my eyes, and allow the world to consume me. I allow myself to fully-completely embrace the wholeness of it all, as it enters through my nose and exits from my mouth. I understand that in this moment, I am.      Sometimes, I feel the weight of it all. The waves crashing from above me, keeping me pinned down to the ocean floor. The overwhelming feeling, of the void of darkness, starring at me as it patiently waits to claim my soul. I’ve peaked into the darkness, and I...

February Rain 🌧️

It’s raining outside.      Today is one of those days, where everything seems gloomy. No sun, all clouds and a ton of rain. Normally, I’d enjoy this kind of weather. Stay inside, grab a coffee and enjoy the tranquility. Today, however, I can’t help but feel the gloom outside reflecting how I feel within.      Things are bad. Everywhere, all over the world. It’s a non-stop bombardment of negative news and media, 24/7. My situation is becoming more and more hopeless, and I find it difficult to find the light. The irony, I suppose, is that I am meant to stand tall regardless. I am meant to not be afraid of the darkness, ignore the evil, and put my head down and work. Something inside of me is struggling with the constant battle between good and evil, over and over again.        Spiritual Warfare is an exhausting battle. Make no mistake- that is exactly what is going on. We are being attacked on all fronts, by an invisible enemy. The ...

Sunday Thoughts 💭

Dearly Beloved,                         W e are gathered here today to celebrate this thing called life.      Another week in the books. Mark it down. 7 days have come, and 7 days have passed. The sands of time continue forward, regardless of what we do with them. The flow never stops, like a river heading to the ocean. Things may come in between it, but it will never slow it down. Time is inevitable.        As per usual, Sunday’s are a great time to spend reflecting on the 7 days which have passed. Did you accomplish all that you set out to achieve? Were you able to complete all the tasks you assigned yourself from the week before? Did you move with such ferocity and intensity, that the world itself could not help but bend to your own will? Or did you sit around all day, making excuses? Did you bitch and moan, about how everything was unfair and impossible? Did you do anythin...

Gladiator ⚔️

I watched Gladiator last night.      Well, I watched the first 15 minutes anyways. Let me tell you, those 15 minutes did not disappoint. Maximus, the Roman General, lead the army of Rome against the Germanic tribes which were uprising in the North. The men all lined up, prepared for battle, and executed anybody that stood in their way. 15 minutes, opening scene. Blood and death, everywhere. Literal chaos, reigning from all corners, to destroy those who opposed the will of Marcus Aurelius. One of the most famous Caesars to even rule over Rome.        What stood out to me the most, out of this entire war scene, was the will of men at their peak. Individuals from all backgrounds, united and fighting as one. Despite being a huge fan of the Roman Army, and fairly knowledgable in all of their conquests- I could not help but relate to the Germanic tribes which were trying to defend themselves. These Germanic soldiers, who were simply local...
