Alone.      Once again, the days grow long. Normally, I do not dread the darkness. Yet today, of all days, I long for human connection. I long for the soft, gentile touch of a woman’s skin, pressed up against my own. The opportunity to share a moment, with another human being, something that I have not done in forever. I almost forget what it is like, to have somebody to lean on.      Being independent is a great skill to master. Learning how to fully completely function on one’s own, something very few in the history of humanity have truly mastered. And yet, every now and then, the waves of loneliness come crashing down upon you. Perhaps loneliness is not the right word. Perhaps, simple companionship, would be the more appropriate term.        Isolation is a very difficult thing for the human mind to truly achieve. The act of being separated from all that makes us human, in order to reconnect with our inner-self. The very practice is a ...

The Cultural Revolution ☭

The Cultural Revolution.      Last night, I watched an extremely moving interview. It was about a woman, who had moved to the United States, after living through the Chinese Revolution. The woman, whose name was Xi Van Fleet, talked about her experience in China, where their entire society changed, and how she saw tremendous parallels over here in the West.      Xi was a woman who was born into China, before it had become a Communist State. The current leader, Mao, had power, yet like all other dictators- craved more. He then split from his party, and formed his own movement. This movement, which Mao had identified himself as the leader, aimed at attacking the rich, upper class of Chinese families around the country, in order to have them fall. This allowed him to also accumulate more power, with less individuals standing in his way of total domination of the country.        Honestly, as an individual who is interested in history,...

Rum & Coke 🥃

Dreamt I was at a bar last night.           Double rum and diet coke. Gotta watch the sugar.        I haven’t been to a bar in forever. Hell, I haven’t even had a drink in months. Let me tell you, it’s about as boring as it sounds. The only good thing to come out of it, is not waking up hungover. That, plus consistency in everything else I’ve done. Honestly, it could be worse. But what I’d do for a drink- a large glass of red wine- you can’t even imagine. Something about drinking the blood of Christ, late at night, after all my other tasks have been completed, just hits the spot.        It’s pretty wild how alcohol has such a firm grip on our society today. You can’t go anywhere anymore, without having it shoved down your throat. I know, I know, I’m such a loser. I’m supposed to celebrate alcohol and drink everyday til I’m dead. But seriously, when you take a step back and look at it, it’s wild. We have become ...
