Into The Darkness: Chapter 1 🧙🏼‍♂️

Reaching down into the flames of the depth, the great wizard had finally found his equal.      Upon the party’s arrival into the depths of the dungeon, the cold, dead air, changed. What once lay as nothing more than a musty old mine, slowly began to feel like there was life once again. At first, no one from the party had recognized the change, say for the wizard. Only he, the wisest of them all, was able to detect that something was a mist. And yet, for all the years of wisdom which he had accumulated- he was foolish enough to chose to enter such a forsaken place to begin with.      As the group began to push deeper and deeper into the crust of the Earth, the light from above them slowly began to fade. The sharp moonlight, which had be reflected to guide their way through complex mirrors and tunnels, began to fade. The very light which had guided them so far into the journey, slowly began to succumb to the eternal darkness which now surrounded them. ...

365 Days Later ... ⏳

Another Year Gone.      Another year gone, and what do I have to show for it? What do I have now, that I did not have 365 days ago?      I’d love to sit here, and list all my accomplishments. I’d love to give myself a huge pat on the back, congratulating my every single move. Yet, as it is so often, reality is much more disappointing than it seems.      Sitting back and recognizing that you’ve made progress, is not something to shake your fist about. However, at the end of the day, we all sit back and realize that we could have gone harder. We could have accomplished more. We could have dug a little deeper. That whatever it is we have today, is simply a reflection of the actions we took a year ago. I do not regret my actions .      I hold no ill will or remorse towards the decisions I made. In fact, I admire them. I admire the courage it took, to cast away all which weighed me down, in search of freedom. In search of mea...

Morality Aesthetics 🦋

What Is Morality?      What is this set of rules which we are meant to operate upon? Does anybody have the actual guidelines which we are meant to follow? Is there an overall consensus based upon our agreement of reality? Or are we all just acting upon our own intentions, disguising our actions as something greater than our wants? I believe it was Nietzsche who said, morality had aesthetics .      He basically argued, that if you killed a cockroach, nobody would bat an eye- however, if you killed a butterfly, everybody would lose their mind. It’s hard to argue with that kind of logic. It’s difficult to say that he was wrong in his assessment. Throughout history, over and over again, our morality has truly depended on the aesthetics we observe, and which side of the fence we sit on. The constant grey-zone, between what is right and what is wrong.      Answering these questions is not something which can be discovered lightly. How can on...

Forward ⏩

Alone.      Once again, the days grow long. Normally, I do not dread the darkness. Yet today, of all days, I long for human connection. I long for the soft, gentile touch of a woman’s skin, pressed up against my own. The opportunity to share a moment, with another human being, something that I have not done in forever. I almost forget what it is like, to have somebody to lean on.      Being independent is a great skill to master. Learning how to fully completely function on one’s own, something very few in the history of humanity have truly mastered. And yet, every now and then, the waves of loneliness come crashing down upon you. Perhaps loneliness is not the right word. Perhaps, simple companionship, would be the more appropriate term.        Isolation is a very difficult thing for the human mind to truly achieve. The act of being separated from all that makes us human, in order to reconnect with our inner-self. The very practice is a ...
