Digital Drug Lords 💊

The Game is to Rob You.

The entire point of the world, here in the West, is to waste and steal your potential.

A world, where opportunity lay everywhere. Where new people, new connections, new adventures, lurk just around the corner. A world, where anything is possible. And yet, we choose not to pursue. We choose not to chase after greatness. We choose, to be numbed down and surrounded by the current trends, to keep us high on our loneliness.

The very world we live in, has become a system of traps. The cure to our isolation, has become nothing more than our crutch. The drug, which was meant to cure us, has transformed into nothing more than a dependancy that we simply cannot shake. All the while, we the people, who continue to get high, are being overruled and overplayed, but those who are supplying the drugs.

The dealers are now in charge. Much like the Pablo Escobar’s of the drug world, these digital overlords have consumed our minds. They’ve penetrated into even the deepest of thinkers, and have created a dependancy where the user cannot break free from their own grasp. The chains have been molded to fit each and every individual, no matter their preference.

How can we, as a people, break free from such genius? How can we cast away our dependancies, and reclaim our destiny? How can we get back to baseline, after having experienced such a digital high? The reality is- I’m not so sure we can.

Much like those who are hooked on cocaine or meth, disconnecting from the digital drug is no easy task. Some individuals are beyond saving. Some simply lack the power and strength to escape the clutch which technology now holds over them. And some, much like their cousins, the drug addicts, simply do not wish to quit.

I no longer believe we are going to be able to save the human population from an inevitable enslavement. In fact, we’ve already been put into chains now, for a very long time. However, the idea of awakening a population, so that they no longer become dependent on the very hand that holds them back, seems like an impossibility as of right now.

Looking back on the progress, we as a society have made, it seems almost poetic that our own people should return to the chains in which they fought so hard to shed. The very structures, which were designed to keep them in captivity, now returning in a newer, flashier form. The very system, which our grand parents and great-grandparents fought for centuries, trying to give their children a better life. I wonder how they would feel now, looking back and realizing it was all for nothing, anyways.

Digital drug addicts seek for anything to get them high. They do whatever is necessary, to escape the reality they currently find themselves in. They will look for a different high, each and every time. A drug, which continues to evolve. A sense of purpose, which serves as a distraction, all at the same time. How can an addict expect to break free from the chains, when they are constantly being exposed to a synthetic cure? A cure, which only drives their dependancy deeper.

٭

We cannot help a people, who refuse to help themselves. We cannot save those, who wish to continue their own destructive habits. A society, where drugs now control the populace, is a society where the dealer holds all the cards.

We are nothing more than addicts.

Addicts, dependant on our Digital Drug Lords.

Godspeed.
