 Parasitic Ideologies

It’s amazing to watch a society adopt parasitic ideologies, as if they are some form of enlightened knowledge. The consumption of repetition- hearing the same thoughts and ideas, over and over- eventually leading to the idea being planted into the victim’s mind. Television and radio, enforcing the same views upon their viewers, until the individual becomes so numb to the thought that they adopt the view as their own. Propaganda embedding itself into the populace, all within an extremely short amount of time.

If one could time-travel back, only a few short years ago, one would be mind-blown. The thoughts and quality of conversation, amongst society, have completely shifted. For the topics and view-points of 10 years ago, have been completely erased. The constant force-feeding of propaganda and lies has turned the average individual into nothing more than a thoughtless machine, repeating the same messages they have been forced to listen to. Within no time at all, all original thoughts and ideas are erased, replaced with nothing more than parasitic talking points, echoed around the media.

Reading about propaganda growing up was always a fascinating subject. The idea that an entire society can become entranced and lost within a message, misleading them towards their own demise, seemed foreign. Whenever learning about former nations or civilizations which deployed this method, one could never help but think “how did they not realize?”. The concept of a people, who all of a sudden adopt a certain stand-point on subjects they do not fully understand, was puzzling to say the least. The disbelief that a group of people, as smart and creative as they may be, could so easily be tricked into adopting points of view, counter-productive to their own existence. And yet, here we are now, in 2025.

The true plague is the lack of critical thinking. When individuals in society are over-stimulated, and over-fed information, they tend to turn their logical thinking-skills off. Being overwhelmed by bits and pieces of the bigger picture, one cannot help but leave the decision-making to those who really know what’s going on. Those who are at the top of society, with all the keys in their hands. Those who have a grip of power over the populace, and are meant to be pubic servants of the nation. And yet, it is often those people who are in power, who commit the greatest of crimes. Those who have no barriers or guardrails, to hold them accountable for their actions. The unlimited power, granted by their own democracy, tends to collapse and lead towards an authoritarian regime.

With no consequences, those who control information, control the people. Those who hold all the keys, are free to do as they wish. And once the legal system is fully designed to protect those in charge- they become nothing more than their own personal ideologies. A ruler who holds certain beliefs, will always reflect those beliefs upon their populace. An oligarchy which holds certain laws above others, will reflect their iron-fist in their decisions when ruling. And a dictator who holds one goal, above all else, will shape their reality to reflect whatever it is they wish to achieve. Power, when left unchecked, is guaranteed to eventually collapse under its own weight.

Parasitic ideologies consume the population, because they are being pushed by those who hold all the keys. The concepts and ideologies, which slowly leak into the public, become the main talking point across any conversation. The topics and view-points of the public slowly shape into one, reflecting the minds of those who rule. Regardless of the consequences, these ideas grip certain people like a virus, which cannot be shaken. The consumption of an empty head, chaining them into an ideology which they do not fully understand. Slowly, then suddenly, individuals who have held very little status or value, adopt a role as defenders of the very ideologies which will destroy their society as they know it. And yet, they defend these views and ideas with their lives, for they no longer know how to think.

History teaches us that every society eventually reaches the same point. Every great nation, is consumed by these ideas, which eventually bring about their demise. The cancer, which grows within, is always the most dangerous threat. The parasites which consume the thoughtless, and latch onto the weak, multiple like wild-fire. And a population, which has surrendered its ability to critically analyze and think, will be overtaken within no time at all.

Eventually, all great empires fall from within.

And the parasites are almost always to blame.

Godspeed.
