Born to Win πŸ†

 Back In The Game.

After a short time-out, we’re officially back. The shoes have been laced up. The horn has been raised. The time keeper has been alerted. Lo and behold, the game carries on.

Finally being back in the race is a bag full of mixed feelings. On one hand, the ability to eventually rejoin society sounds like a blast. The ability to get out of the same old, same old, in exchange for something new- that excites me. However, the need to return to the race, where every step is the same as the last, where every second is used against you- that part sounds dreadful.

In reality, we must learn to accept the good and the bad, and the ugly. We must become comfortable understanding that in order to achieve what we wish, we must sometimes be willing to do things we do not. We must be comfortable in accepting the means to an end. To use these stepping stones to propel us forward, so that we may rise and claim our destiny.

There is no easy way towards success. The road is bound to be bumpy. We are bound to become stretched and tested like never before. However, that is a good thing. That is something which every single individual who is seeking to rise should embrace. The challenge is what makes the effort worth it. The battle is where we are tested the most. The ability to show up and execute, day after day after day, is what separates us from the goats and sheep of the wild. We are calculated.

Understanding your game-plan and executing it are two very different things. Being able to mentally picture success is a great start, no doubt about it. However, being able to actually wake up and do the work necessary, is another. The ability to truly stick to your plan, no matter the outside noise, is a talent. Something which may take some practice to first achieve. Something which may require you to become ruthless and disciplined like never before. If it were easy, everybody would do it.

Execution requires a specific mind-set. The ability to find a way to win, no matter the circumstances. The desire to succeed so bad, that you no longer care about the how. All that remains is you and your goals. This form of execution is what leads athletes to success. This allows them to better understand the hurdles they face, as they strive to win. That every single individual agains them is designed to hold them back and stop them from winning. That every opponent wants the exact same thing as they do. Yet, regardless of the odds, they find a way to win.

Have you ever watched a sports team, come back in the 4th quarter, to win by a single score? Whether it be football, basketball, baseball or hockey- the results remain the same. The team which seems to will their way towards victory, no matter the odds. That is what one must become, if they wish to mimic the success. An individual so strong-willed, that reality itself seems to bend in order for them to achieve their mission.

Many aspects go into winning. It is not a simple game of black and white. However, the outcome most definitely is. Sports will teach you that, early on in life. There is no points for the loser. There is no hero’s parade for the ones who fall short. In sports, you either win, or you learn. Second place has no value, because nobody rewards somebody who falls short.

Life is exactly like sports. Or, better yet, sports are exactly like life. Whichever way you prefer to look at it- the statement remains the same. Winning is what separates yourself from others. Becoming so addicted to winning, that it’s all you can think of 24/7. Have you ever met somebody who seems to win all the time? In sports, in school, in work, in gambling? How many times have you seen this person win, and simply chalk it up as them being lucky. Them, for some reason or another, having every single thing always work out in their favour. Newsflash- it ain’t luck.

Winning is contagious. One win, and a man will find him self off to the races. Close one deal, and you’ll find yourself already looking for the next. Find one advantage, and begin immediately searching for the next. Win after win after win, the momentum continues. The speed of execution increases. The desire to score more, becomes a burning passion within.

Find your purpose. Find your passion. Find whatever it is that allows you to conquer the day. And once you start- do not slow down for anything. Become an immovable object. Become an unstoppable force.

Become the individual who was born to win.
