Trouble on the Horizon ⏳

 The Sound of Silence.

The inability to sit still and in silence is slowly handicapping the abilities of men. We have become a society that is so over-stimulated, that we no longer seem to have control over our thoughts. We are constantly being force-fed information and noise from everything around us, that we are slowly become a slave to it all. A slave, to the natural urges and habits which our brain has developed through the release of dopamine from over-stimulation.

Watching a video on slavery yesterday, leaves one wonders a lot of things. Obviously, the actions were horrible and should never have taken place. However, the greater mystery is how we as a civilization were ever able to get rid of it in the first place. Seriously. Throughout history, there have always been slaves to advance the aims of those who ruled. The desire to push towards accomplishing specific goals, fuelled by the hard work and actions of those who were bound by chains.

Reality is, we have achieved all which we have, to this date, thanks to slavery. That may be a highly controversial statement- however, it does not change the validity of said remark. As far back as humanity is recorded, from the Sumerians, to the Egyptians, to the Americans- slavery has been the driving force behind every country’s boom. Even looking as recent as China, where the Communism Revolution took place and created a slave-based system. Even the USSR achieved their advancement through infrastructure and technology because of their slaves. As much as it pains me to admit it, slavery has proven to be extremely beneficial- at first, for those at top, but later, for the entire civilization.

The practice of slavery is something which has been disgusting and barbaric throughout history. That much, I will definitely not argue against. Watching a video of King Leopold II and his conquest of Congo definitely leaves one with a very, very bad taste in their mouths. The methods used upon the individuals who were all but natives living their lives within the country before being invaded by a foreign nation, were barbaric to say the least. Some of the worst methods I’ve ever seen. From severing hands and collecting them as trophies, to simply killing for sport. The human species never ceases to amaze me at how cruel it can truly be.

What if there were a way to achieve all that we had achieved during slavery, across the world, without the barbaric acts? What if we were able to create a system where the individuals all submit their individuality, and work towards a common outcome? I suppose the question more or less answers itself- communism. Just looking at the pure facts of it all, the ability to move forward as a nation towards improvement requires tremendous sacrifice. It requires all individuals to cease their own, personal operations, and join together for the greater good. The more and more I speak of it, the more likely of an outcome it seems.

I condemn communism. First and foremost, let’s make that part extremely clear. However, I love the driving idea behind it. The process of moving a nation, a unit, an army, towards a common goal to better the lives of those yet to be born. The idea of having a nation’s entire manpower behind one true motivation. The ability to guide the masses towards a greater goal. Much like Mao in Communist China was able to achieve, driving forward a great leap and joining the modern world. The ability to direct the masses in a fashion which gives them no choice but to pursuit the betterment of the nation. A very, very tempting idea, when analyzed at face value.

The issue? It never works. At least, it never works as advertised. All that communism has achieved throughout history is death and genocide. The massacre of the population, leading to millions upon millions of innocent civilians dead. The starvation of those who work at camps. The brutal murder of any who stand up and speak against it. The systematic elimination of any which individuals who stand in the way. A dictator does not earn power without using force. The ability to throw a coup d’état and seize power is not a pleasant game. The cost of said power is tremendous bloodshed and prosecution. Overall, it is an absolute crime and disgusting mess.

The issue with Power and Politics, is that the average individual has no clue. They are barely informed at all, believing that life is some sort of linear online game, where everybody plays by the same set of rules. In fact, I would argue that most of the population of the world is completely oblivious to all things which concern them at all. Their minds are too small, as they shy away from anything which does not reap instant gratification. The inability to sit still and learn, all the while filling their heads with noise from over-stimulation. When you begin to finally understand it, everything starts to make sense.

We today are the new slaves. That part, there is no question. The constant force-feed of nonsense and useless information is meant to crowd our senses, so that we may not be aware of what is truly going on. Why study and learn about Power and Politics, when one can simply sit around and be entertained instead? Why learn about the evils of the world and what they have accomplished, when dopamine is available at every turn? The reality of the situation is that the average individual does not care about anything, at all. They do not care to learn. They do not care to be better.

The average individual only cares to eat, drink and fuck.

And because of that- we are in trouble.

        Glory Be,

                    Amen.
