Heavy Is The Head 👑

 Heavy Is The Head.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. He who sits on the throne, and makes all the decisions, is challenged. They are challenged by their thoughts, their consciousness, and their actions. The never-ending, second-guessing, constantly occurring during their reign. The responsibility, accountability, and overall control of the realm is something which a weak man may not succeed at.

Being a ruler is an extremely difficult task. The reality is, most are not suited for the role. Most are better off as subjects, than leaders. Many such cases exist in today’s world, as well as in the past. History is littered with those who have gained power, but have not had the wisdom to hold it. Every single one of their decisions, leading them down a path of destruction. Every single one of their actions, being discussed or ignored. The simple truth is, those who lead should never be the ones who seek to. A leader should be an individual who is called upon, in a time of need, to deliver a service to its people- not an individual who seeks to elevate their status.

I am a firm believer that an individual in power is mostly as strong as those he surrounds himself by. If he is to be surrounded by wise, old men who have seen many events in their lifetime, he is likely to be a wise king. If he is surrounded by fierce, deadly warriors, who have fought a plenty in their days, then he is likely to be fierce. And if he is surrounded by clowns and children, who do not take the position at hand serious, then he himself shall meet the same fate. There is an age-old saying, coined by the Turks in the 1400, claiming that when a clown moves into the castle, the circus begins. In today’s world, more than ever, I would argue that is exactly the case.

Overall, humanity has always had leaders. Mankind more or less requires leadership, in order to work together and progress into the unknown. United we stand, divided we fall. Every single time that a people or a nation are being lead by a weak leader, their country suffers. Every single time that people are ruled by clowns, their lives become a circus. The leader is meant to be the direct representation of its subjects, and should therefor embody their greatest qualities and traits. If a king cannot reflect his people, then his reign will never last long.

Many mistakes in the olden days have been made because of weak leaders. Many wars and battles have been fought, all because of weak leadership. History shows that most kingdoms look to keep their line of succession within the family, slowly but surely welcoming their own downfall. One of the most prime examples can be seen, when the Gauls were divided into three kingdoms. The king, who wished to see the peace maintain, believed that his sons, being from the same bloodline, would be the best choice to lead. In hindsight, they most definitely were not. Rivals turn to one another, as they seek to assert their dominance over power. No king wishes to bend the knee to another, regardless of their blood.

Leadership is a role a man is born for. It is a purpose which he has been molded into being. An individual who is meant to rise above the challenges of their time, and lead their fellow countrymen to glory. Many such leaders can be viewed throughout history. Perhaps not all of them are viewed in a positive light. However, their impact and powerful inspiration is something which cannot be denied. One such leader who often comes to mind in Napoleon Bonaparte. The individual who rose to power and claimed the throne, inspiring hundreds of thousands, if not more, to march to war with him. The ability to lead a nation, and direct its course, while attempting to do the impossible. Despite the unsuccessful outcome, and the eventual seeds of war which his conflict had sown throughout Europe, I would still argue that he was a man of purpose, who was born to lead.

Each region, each kingdom, each country, holds its own set of values. These values are once again meant to be direct reflections of the people in which they reside within. Looking back in history, during the ancient times, this become more clear. Alexander the Great was one of, if not the, greatest leaders of the entire world. His power and strength directly reflected the will of his people, the Greeks. This gave him the ability to withstand the sands of time, being still a relevant figure in today’s modern history. His effects on society can still be seen today. The Greek traditions and cultures, which have survived throughout the millennium’s, still hold relevant in today’s world.

There are limitless examples of kings and leaders which have been true trailblazers. Over and over, different men who had rose to power in their own unique fashion, creating a state-vassal which has lead them towards glory. The actions of their kingdom, forever etched within the sands of time. On the contrary, there are always limitless leaders who have done the exact opposite for their clans. Those who have brought forth nothing more pain and suffering, creating hard times and harder climates. These leaders are those who were ill-suited for the throne, yet were handed the reigns of power none-the-less.

History is littered with positives and negatives. Great leaders and horrid ones. Builders and destroyers. Creators and poisoners. Those who have helped advance their civilization, and those who have helped drag them down. Overall, the wheel of rulers keeps on turning, creating a constant struggle going back and forth, over and over again.

The Universe has a way of balancing itself out, doing whatever is necessary to even the playing field.

All we can do is observe.

        Glory Be,

                    Amen.
