 Where Do Ideas Come From?

Late at night, when you lie in your bed. In the shower, with the water pouring down your back. All alone, floating in the middle of the lake. Where do your ideas come from, when they pop into your head?

The question is one which is worth examining. Not so many as the physical location, but the spiritual and mental location as well. I always remember a video of Rick Ross, explaining that any creation of an idea is a spiritual process. One must be willing to reach deep into their mind, and pull something out, creating it in the physical world. If that isn’t magic, then I do not know what is.

The reason I ask is because the mind is one of the least understand aspects of humanity. We can understand how our bodies work, no problem. We can figure out how to manipulate the environment around us, easily. However, when it comes to our minds, most individuals are still clueless in how to navigate it. They do not understand the significance or power which it holds within. Even worse, most allow their minds to be their greatest enemy, in a world filled with those who wish o bring them down.

Do ideas appear within our mind, as they are passing by through another realm? Do they constantly flow around us, like water in a river, only accessible when we choose to be calm and access the stream? Are there an unlimited number of ideas floating around one’s head, as they read this, simply waiting to be plucked? Like fresh apples on an apple tress, lowly hanging, waiting to be shared with the world.

Sharing our ideas is what makes humanity different. The ability to communicate with others the visions which we hold in our head, attempting to ignite their own curiosity. Much like a spark, igniting a flame. Sometimes, all it takes is one strike of a rock to create a combustion, and spread like wildfire in a forest filled with green life. The idea can consume us, driving us mad. It can become trapped within, absolutely eating away at our consciousness, as we attempt to contain it and hold it from the outside world. Or, we can create it. We can spend our time, working alone on our vision, in order to produce something in the physical world which can be shared with those around us. We can labour, day in and day out, to mold and produce such extravagant creations, that even our Creator looks down and smiles.

Creation is the main purpose of man. In my humble opinion, life without creation is no life at all. A man who is not willing to reach into his mind, and pull out something into he physical world, is hardly a man at all. Humanity is born to create. We are, after all, a creation ourselves. Molded by the very Earth and the flames from within. Created, so that we man live here and build towards something currently unknown. The constant work towards an unseen future, attempting to secure ourselves a spot within the sands of time. The non-stop labour of creating art, creating capital, creating technology, creating systems as their own prize. We as a species, create, create, create.

Destruction can also be a part of creation. Much like life, there is a grand cycle to everything. The Universe itself, will arguable destruct upon itself. After all the years and years of torture, of labour, of hard work and impossible odds. After all the blood, sweat and tears we pour out from our very own system. After finally realizing that we ourselves are the ones who hold the keys. Destruction is nothing more than a natural step in the cycle of creation. It can even be a form of creation itself. Is cracking an egg destruction? Or is it simply the beginning of creation for an omelette to eat? Who is in charge of determining these things? Who says it can only be one thing?

Life is creation. Death is destruction. We as humans more or less all agree upon that. However, one can begin to view those two concepts, the same way they view the omelette from above. Perhaps Death is not destruction. Perhaps it is simply the beginning of a new creation. Much like life, being the creation of suffering. The creation of destruction. Once the die is cast, there is no going back. Only through destruction, can we escape the creation which we are currently living in.

Ideas flow like water, surrounding us at all times. A never-ending barrage of life, constantly swarming us. They pull at our attention, they battle us for our time. They do everything they can to absorb us, pulling us away from the reality which lies ahead. Much like a television, which distracts you from the tasks at hand. An idea is the same, pulling us out from the physical world, and bringing forth something greater within.

Make sure you spend your time creating. Make sure you do not sit around all day, consuming the destruction of men. Step outside of the prison, and break a couple eggs instead. Build an omelette, allow destruction is lead you to a greater path. Reach up above, and seize from the river which surrounds you. Dig deep inside, and bring forth the well.

Create something spiritual,

before destruction creates you instead.

        Glory Be,

                    Amen.
