Sands of Time ⏳
Sands of Time.
Achilles and the Battle of Troy is one of the better movies I’ve seen. The wisdom and knowledge which are dropped throughout the 2-hour film really help a man better understand what it is he is up against. The constant flow against the sands of time, as we attempt to do the impossible in order to allow our name to live on through the ages.
Much of the lessons in that movie continue to be prevalent today. Man’s wish to have his name last the test of time, as we attempt to do the impossible within our lifetime. We each choose our own path, doing whatever we deem necessary in order to find success. To work and build towards something greater than ourselves. To create a legacy which will live long after we have passed. To become something more than a man, bound by flesh and blood.
Most men today are more than happy with simply existing. They are grateful to simply wake up, go to work, pay taxes, and die. Nothing special. Simply living as a slave, without any second thoughts about it. Yet some men crave more. Some men simply cannot and will not accept anything less than immortality. They scratch and claw, every single day, in order to create something which can defeat time itself. In reality, all men fail. However, that does not stop them from trying.
The ability to stare the impossible in the face, and remain calm, is a talent. It is something which only the bravest of men come to understand. They live most of their lives, trying to learn how to defeat it, before finally coming to the truth- there is no defeating it. Once a man is able to an accept the inevitable, he is able to turn towards the beast and face it head on himself. The undeniable knowledge that he will die trying, is enough to unlock the courage within. Only the brave ever make it to this stage. Those who are willing to risk everything, to lose everything, simply for their best shot. For at the end of day, the fear of Death is greater than Death itself.
In the ancient world, glory only came to those who died on the battlefield. Those who would sacrifice their lives, fighting for whatever they believed in. Those who would proclaim to God that their soul was His for the taking, and no one else. Those who believed that only a warrior’s death would bring them true peace in the afterlife. In today’s world, things have changed slightly. Although I would still argue that a warrior’s death still remains a man’s top priority- the battlefield on which they fight has drastically changed.
The greatest trick evil has ever conjured upon the human race is the deception that war has ended and there is no need for violence. Obviously, I speak from a position of comfort, here in the West. True war and terrible crimes against humanity continue around the world, in specific parts as we speak. The horror which occur are not to be ignored, nor down played. However, for the sake of the argument, I stand by my original statement. The battlefield, here in the Western world, has shifted. It is no longer fought in deserts or jungles, but rather in board rooms and online. The struggle to emerge on top of the rat pack, doing whatever is necessary, to defeat your foes out in the world. The grind set required to battle from all angles, fending off evil at every single turn.
War today in America is a psychological battlefield. In a world where lies are being promoted left, right and centre- one most be willing to train their mind every single day. The ability to stand tall, with your back against the wall, and declare no weapon formed against shall prosper is a daunting task. To understand that we are battling forces which we cannot even see, as the evils of the world continue to roll across the plains and attack us from every angle. The battle of swords and shields is no longer. The battle of minds and will has begun.
Battling against the human mind can be daunting. In fact, it is one of the more challenging aspects we shall ever meet in our modern day life. As pathetic as that statement may seem, it is important to grasp how the game has changed. How the original field of play has been shifted, to become nothing more than a psychological plain. We must now be willing to learn and educate ourselves, in order to properly enter the game. We must read, write and practice all which we preach, in order to stand a fighting chance. We must do whatever is necessary, in order to pull ourselves ahead of the curve. The reality is, we are at war 24/7, against external forces, constantly trying to pull us down.
The Titanic sunk because water got into its hull. There is a lesson in there. Much like great ships, we humans sink only once we are confronted with a force which we allow to enter within. The evils around us, work tirelessly to enter our consciousness. Only once we have allowed them to breach our minds, do we find ourselves sinking within. The constant battle within, being pulled apart by forces unseen. Protecting ourselves from these demons are essential, if we wish to win the war within.
Perhaps the time of Achilles has passed. Perhaps one day, it shall return again. The future is uncertain, that much I know for sure. However, all we can truly do is work with what we currently have. And currently, we have knowledge and information beyond our wildest dreams. We have access to tools and resources which no other generation on Earth has ever had before. We have the power of immense force, at our finger tips. It would be an absolute crime for us not to cultivate these powers into something more.
Who knows- perhaps with the right amount of knowledge, the proper amount of power, and an unlimited amount of courage- we can move forward and defeat the Sands of Time.
Glory Be,
Amen.
