Fight or Flight 🛫
Fight or Flight.
At the end of the day, your life boils down to two things: Fight or Flight.
Every decision you make, rests between the two. Fight for what it is you believe in, fight for what it is you want. Or flight from what is bothering you, what is holding you back from winning. Every single individual has a choice to make, when it comes to every single aspect of their lives. The decision lies solely in your own hands. You become solely responsible for your own life.
Fighting can be difficult. It can be draining, dark, and demanding. The battles we face become all-consuming, weighing heavily upon our consciousness. However, there comes a time in ones life where you realize that fighting is all that is left. That fighting for what you believe in, is not only proper- it’s necessary. Violence is never the answer, unless sometimes it is.
Flight is nothing more than a habit. A learned habit, that one picks up after becoming addicted to it. The concept of quoting, of constantly walking away, of simply letting things be- becomes ones weakness. The comfort of simply allowing the world to execute its will upon you, while you simply take it, leads to a very dark path. The reality is, if you are a giver, you must have boundaries. Because the takers will continue to take until there’s nothing left.
Every battle does not require one to fight in. If you choose to simply battle at every single conflict, you will quickly exhaust yourself. Much like an army, standing at the gates of their city. Chasing after every single individual or animal that you see approach your walls is a sure way to exhaust yourself. The art of understanding when to fight, and when to ignore, is a learned skill. The reality is, experience becomes more valuable than anything. And the only way to acquire experience, is to put yourself out there.
The wise warrior avoids the battle. As much as it’s a great saying, I have to disagree. If a wise warrior avoids the battle, then how can they keep their steel sharp? How can they maintain their edge? The human mind is one which constantly deteriorates, if not sharpened. Much like I’ve previous spoken about, there is no such thing as stagnation. You are either improving, or you are declining. The idea of a middle ground is a lie. A warrior must constantly be practicing, constantly be battling, in order to stay sharp.
Quitting is a habit. Once somebody has found the comfort of quitting, they learn to embrace it. Slowly but surely, quitting becomes the natural instinct in ones life. It seeps across the entire field, like wildfire burning through a forest. The spread cannot be contained, as it burns down everything in its path. The old familiar feeling of abandonment and self-pity follow soon after, allowing one to sit back and feel like they are not solely responsible for their own lives. Like they are simply victim to uncontrollable circumstances. Like they experienced hardship beyond the normal human condition.
All lies hide the truth. There is no such thing as a good lie. Some may try to convince of it, but they themselves are helping spread the evil. Our world, our society, is plagued by these lies. The self-sorrow, the self-pity. The fake empathy towards a situation which can 100% be reverse. The acceptance of weakness and fragility. The pardoning of traitorous offences. The never-ending, always-growing list of fake acceptance and condolences. The constant flames of defeat, spreading over every single aspect.
In a society where humans are held accountable for their every action, success is sure to follow. When one is thrown into the flames of hardship, and coached with an honest guidance, success is within reach. One cannot expect to achieve the difficult, without first going through trials and tribulations to achieve it. When we are faced with cold, hard facts, right in our face, we are given a choice. To fight against it and improve, or to flight and stay the same. Two decisions, responsible for all of our life’s work.
Accountability is a foreign concept, in today’s society. We have fallen into a world of blame. Instead of actively looking for solutions to the challenges we encounter, we have turned into a culture of seeking who to blame. Everybody, from politicians to workers. From parents to kids. Constantly looking for somebody to pin all our problems upon, as if it will somehow lighten our load. More and more, we see a culture shift where solving problems is no longer valued. Where being morally right and logically sound is held in higher regards than getting things done. We no longer wish to make progress, we simply wish to look back and talk about what went wrong.
When we as a society loose sight of what is ahead of us, dark days loom near. Like constantly driving a vehicle, always looking back in the rearview mirror. The goal of our culture, of our society, is to move forward. To create a better tomorrow. With the division and hatred sowed within the communities we live in right now, those tasks become extremely difficult instead. We forget about our purpose. We ignore the cold-hard facts which have brought us here.
Our mission is to move forward, to create, to build a better tomorrow. To tackle the day, head on, and move one step closer towards paradise. To be of service, and to help give our future generations the opportunity to build off of what we have done. That can only be achieved through battle. Through fighting. Against both ourselves and evil. Through facing difficult challenges and having difficult conversation. To acknowledge it head on.
If we do not fight for a better tomorrow- tomorrow may never come.
Glory Be,
Amen.
