Time Keeps On Tickin’.
Days become weeks, weeks become months. Soon, years will have passed. What have you accomplished with your time?
Have you built something worth-while, here living on Earth? Or have all you done is consume. Constantly chasing the new best thing, never doing anything to help improve the situation. The reality is, most people offer nothing of value to today’s world. We are constantly caught up in the rat race, running around and doing whatever it is possible to not face the darkness within.
Life is a really short journey, where we come, we see, then we leave. The trick is understanding how valuable our time is. Understanding it, then doing something worthwhile about it. The biggest mistake you ever hear an older person say, is how they wasted so much time. How they spent their days worrying or working on something that they do not hold dear. Arguing with individuals they do not care about. Time spent chasing pleasures, all the while neglecting their own garden or soul. Running around, becoming nothing more than a shadow of their true self.
Distractions are everywhere. We are constantly being force-fed nonsense to help keep us busy. A busy mind does not have time to unlock its true potential. A busy body does not have the energy to rest and find their own strength. Life is a journey, trying to reconnect and finding our true souls. Yet we have created a system, where everybody is so busy running around, that they never stop to smell their own flowers and tend to their own garden. Things are more insane than ever.
Some day soon, we will all look back upon our garden, and wonder where it all went wrong. Wonder how, after all this time, we lost sight of the goal. We lost connection with the Universe and our own depth within. Reality is going to hit us like a ton of rocks, and I do not look forward to it.
Pain is inevitable. No matter what we do, no matter who we are- pain and suffering are a part of life. These emotions will travel the Universe, just to find us. To remind us, that even the strongest of us is also human. That we are all operating on the same, uneven playing field.
People in life have two choices. They can either run from the pain, and constantly keep on moving as fast as they can to make sure their emotions never catch up to them. They can party, and hangout with people they don’t even know, doing things they don’t even like, just to try and escape the pain they feel inside. Or they can face it. They can slow down, and allow it to consume them. They can allow the pain to work its way into their lives, and completely and utterly devour them. I believe only then, once one sits back and can truly feel their pain- are they capable of overcoming it.
Suffering is inevitable. We are born to suffer. The purpose of life, is suffering. That much is easy to understand, once one is willing to look deep enough within. Deep enough, to begin to understand. The secret to suffering, is being able to take those raw emotions, and transfer them into something else. Transfer them into something which will help yourself and others around you. Someone who is in extreme pain has a change to create something extreme. What they create can be totally up to them. What they put into the world, completely dependent on which direction they choose to travel.
Moments are the key to life. Split-second decisions, which help shape the outcome of the Universe. Somebody who goes out on a run understands that the motivation they need in order to step outside and run is hidden within a split-second decision. That decision is a make or break. The same applies to an individual wishing to create. They have a choice, in a split second, to sit down and write. Or record. Or simply build. Or they have the choice, to sit around and allow their emotions to consume them. All them to eat away at their consciousness, slowly chipping away at them until there is nothing left. Whichever path we choose to take, one thing remains certain- we choose.
When we finally reach the end of our journey, here on Earth, and we take a moment to reflect and look back- will you be content with the moments you chose? Or will you sit with regret, wishing things had been different? At the end of the day, you are the only one to blame. We are solely responsible for creating the life we wish to live. We must be willing to step outside of the comfort of our own emotions, and take risks. Put ourselves out there, and see what we can become.
Glory Be,
Amen.
