Jim Carrey πŸŽ™️

If you knew you could never fail, what would you do?

Simple enough of a question, don’t you think? If you were guaranteed success, at no matter what you attempted- what is it that you would do?

I believe that’s life for you. I believe that we are capable of any and everything which we choose to put our minds to. Most people never even begin in the first place. Self-doubt and indecision causes them to resist the change, to fight against chasing in what they believe in. Most people simply wish to fit in to the crowd, to not stand out, to simply stay in their lane and never make any mistakes. What a waste of life.

When you finally awaken, and begin to understand exactly what it is that is going on, here on Earth- your reality changes. Your conception- or rather, misconception- of what it is you are here to do, completely lifts. If you were given a single shot to do something incredible, would you not take it? Would you not risk it all, in pursuit of something which brings your soul to its highest vibration? Would you not awaken and realize, that in the life- this short, short life- nothing is guaranteed?

I often think about the speech that Jim Carrey gave at a University once. You can find it online. It stand out to me for a couple reasons. One, because I’m biased and he’s a Canadian boy. Hey, at least I’m being transparent. And two, because he’s right. In a world with no absolute truths, with no guarantees- Jim Carrey’s speech is the truth resonating from the darkness.

Jim Carrey said that his father was the funniest man he ever knew. Way funnier than himself, than any other Hollywood actor that he had ever met. Yet, despite that, his father elected to take the safer path in life. He left the comedy scene behind, and ended up going into banking. He worked at the bank for years, doing his job and bringing home his pay check, to help provide for his wife and kids. No question about it, he had found a noble cause to deal with his suffering. Until one day, the bank decided to let him go. All of a sudden, the man who chose the safe path and dedicated his life towards something other than what he wished to do, found himself jobless and out of cash. The moral of the story, according to Jim, was that if you can even fail while playing it safe- you might as well go big or go home.

Perhaps I’m paraphrasing a little bit. Honestly, I was never great at repeating quotes. However, the message still stands. The message, that nothing in life is guaranteed That we can all fail, we can all lose everything, within a moment. So if we are not guaranteed nothing here in life- why not go all out in pursuit of our dreams? Why not risk everything, since nothing is promises? I often think about that speech, randomly throughout the day. How many of us continue to live lives where we simply follow somebody else’s dream? We simply work for an individual who has chased their own success, and we latch onto them, convincing ourselves that we are playing it safe?

Playing it safe was never in my vocabulary. In the grand scheme of the Universe, playing it safe makes no sense what-so-ever. If you really wanted to play it safe, you would have never been born in the first place. Why would you ever choose to come into this life, knowing that death is the only answer. The only escape. The only way out.

If you’re going to play- might as well go all-in.

        Glory Be,

                    Amen.
