Time-Travel ⏳

If you ever discovered the ability to Time-Travel, would you?

And if so- where would you go?

Kind of a classic, go-to question, right? Who hasn’t been asked, or at least thought about it before. Time Travel is one of the most exercised theories in the world, one where everybody who bothers talking about it is hoping to be able to unlock the secrets of the Universe, and bend it to their will. I was lowkey excited for Marvel to release The Kang Dynasty, to see their take on the entire thing. Overall, the character development of Kang, The Conqueror, seemed like something I could have gotten behind. The introduction to him in Ant-Man was solid, and the actor himself put on an impressive show. It would have been a series to remember, showing the unlimited power and potential of an individual who was capable of bending Time to his will.

My favourite character in Marvel, Supreme Sorcerer Strange, also bent time to his will. He was able to go back and forth, traveling thru all that was, that is and that ever will be. He also acquired the power to break an Absolute Point, making him the most powerful character in the entire Universe. With his new-found ability, he was able to reverse the death of his love, Christine, and bring her back to life. Yet, once he accomplished it, everything in his Universe began to collapse, and eventually killed everybody but himself in the process. I guess when you mess with Time, Time tends to mess back.

Overall, the idea still stands. Travel to the past, travel to the future. As simple as it sounds, the implications would be astronomical. Reality-altering, even. If we ever unlocked the ability to do so, there would be no chance that the Universe would not destabilize in the process. In a realistic sense, Time Travel would mean the ability to alter and bend Space-Time. Space-Time, would mean the need to solve Gravity. To solve Gravity, one would need to first discover exactly what it is, followed by how to bend it. The science behind it would be insane just to begin with. The power required, not only to solve the problems, but to also hold onto the knowledge and possibilities within one’s head, would be non-computable. The reality is, most minds would crumble and collapse upon themselves, if they ever were to unlock the secrets. Sometimes I think about Einstein, or even Schrondiger. These great men, who dedicated their lives to their art and progress, completely lost their minds in the process. They started off as eager, young students of life, wishing to learn the secrets of the Universe. Each one of them, keen with discovering something new, eventually began to slip from normality, into madness. Which is to be expected. Imagine, discovering secrets which only you seem to know, rearranging how we as humans see the Universe. The very thought of it would be enough to drive even the most sane men mad.

Connor McGregor has an interview of himself at the gym, from when he was younger. Before the drugs, fame, and straight-up reckless behaviour. However, in that interview, he talks about Van Gogh. He speaks on how Vincent Van Gogh was so dedicated to his art, so obsessed with it, that he slowly began to lose his mind. He lost his mind, and in exchange, produced some of the greatest art the world has ever seen. So great, here we are in 2024 still talking about it today. That interview goes to show you something. Something, I believe, which rings true for all individuals who wish to achieve something truly great. Losing your mind is a result of greatness. Being able to completely fall out from society, and become your own individual being, who no longer wishes to fit in and be a normal part of the machine. I think what Van Gogh went thru, is what all other great artists and scientists did as well. They sacrificed their sanity, in order to achieve something unachievable.

All these great individuals, who decided to take a leap of faith, and reach out to conquer the unknown, all share the same thing in common- they’re Artists. Scientists, Painters, Fighters, Philosophers, etc.- But Artists, at the end of the day. They view the world as nothing more than a canvas, something which can be changed with a stroke of genius. And that breakthrough in thinking is what probably leads them to insanity in the first place. In order to change the world, you have to be willing to do something nobody else is willing to do. You have to be brave enough to attempt something which cannot be done. You have to see it with your mind’s eye, despite what everybody else may see. Insanity seems to be the key to all of it. If everybody could see it, then it would hardly be worth achieving.

Time-Travel would break the matrix in which we live in. The mind’s of extraordinary men would crumble under the knowledge and power of it all. Perhaps the secrets to the Universe are too much for man to handle. Perhaps, we are not meant to know all there is to know. Which would mean we are meant to evolve, in order to become capable. We are meant to build a cocoon, so that we, the caterpillar, may transform into the butterfly we are meant to be. Time-Travel would be the very key to this evolution. Understanding Gravity and how it works would be a start. Once we figure that out, the Universe becomes limitless. We become the next great conquerors of the Universe. We would hold so much power, that nothing would be the same again. Which is why, now more than ever, I am convinced that we are simply not ready. That we are not meant to unlock it just yet.

We as a species are corrupt and broken, weak-willed and influenced by evil non-stop. We are a far-cry from the individuals we used to be. We have been broken down, beat and changed by the forces of power which are cast upon us today. From the Internet, to the Cell Phone, we have been given a glimpse of the tools in which we can use to create our own reality and reflect our will upon the world. And what have we done with it? Hardly anything worth achieving. We have created a system that is broken, rigged and corrupt. In spite of all we could have accomplished- we have created a world where suffering is a game. I don’t think man is ready to unlock Time-Travel, I do not think we are ready to understand the Universe.

We simply lack the strength to wield such power.

May God have mercy on us all,

                    Amen.
