Sunday Thoughts 💭
Another week in the books.
Sunday has gone, and come again. The wheels of time continue to spin forward. Will it ever stop? We may never know.
Regardless, it’s time to once again take a step back, and look at the bigger picture. To review the week that has passed, to celebrate the wins and analyze the losses. Both are crucial in better understanding and growing as a human being. We are meant to achieve great things, you and I, while we still have air left in our lungs to breathe.
Something about today feels … good. I feel refreshed- reborn. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it is, but I feel it. In my soul, I no longer feel like I am the same person I was the week before. Perhaps that is an accurate statement, when you think about it. The atoms which formed my body last week, are no longer the ones which control me today. I have shed my skin, and have been reborn from the ashes in which I was buried. The new age has arrived, and I am feeling better than ever about it.
Perhaps the energy I am feeling is being felt all around, by others as well. It’s hard to know, without communicating it with others. Maybe we have all entered a new dawn, a new age, where everything we have worked so hard for is finally coming to fruition. I am prepared to accept all which comes my way. I am ready to rise to the occasion, and claim what is rightfully mine. The work has been put in- blood, sweat and tears have been spilt. I have given it my all over these past few weeks, and I am ready to claim what is rightfully mine. Having spent each and every week, carefully calculating a plan, building a process, step by step. The most important part of it all, however, is execution. Being able to stick to the plan, and make sure you tackle each and every single day with the force and energy necessary in order to succeed. I feel like I have done that, and I am proud of the efforts. However, the marathon continues. The journey does not end here.
One of the key concepts which I am embracing today, as we speak, is that change is necessary. Being stubborn, yet flexible, is the key to success (in my opinion). I believe that, like all things in life, we eventually flatline when we no longer adapt to our environment around us. I believe that it is crucial for one to be able to take a step back, and retool simple things in their routine. I must be able to do the same with my system and goals, in order to achieve and reach new heights. I have been consistent on my three workouts a day, which have been producing great results so far. However, I feel like I must be able to retool them, and change them ever so slightly. The ability to continue to push forward, with new challenges, helping to create new habits and results. The tinkering will be ideal to help activate and fire new muscles within my nervous system, shocking it into submission. One of the major changes will be finally setting up my boxing bag in the basement.
Boxing is one of the most effective workouts in the book. The nervous system, firing on all cylinders, will reap benefits to my body. The core movements and shoulder workouts will be killer, allowing me to overload my system and work on firing off at a much quicker pace. One of the biggest secrets to achieving success in sports, in my opinion, is your core muscles. Not just necessarily your abdominal muscles, but your obliques as well. The obliques all you to really reach in and fire from the hips as well, giving you maximum power. The point of any sport is to be able to fire with your entire nervous system, giving you the most out of every movement. That is why boxers or fighters are able to shoot so many shots, and still release with devastating speed and precision. Overall, I very much look forward to adding the boxing bag to my workouts. I plan on also using it to kick box, strengthening my hips even more than before as well. The balance required will help my ankles and hips, stabilize and truly grip the floor which I am conducting upon.
Biking has been a staple in this entire process so far. I have been able to ride steady, 6 days a week, from home. The ability to hop on the bike, and sweat it out at full force, has done tremendous things for my mental and physical health. My quads and hips have never been more powerful. The very exercise itself has become somewhat therapeutic, allowing me to fully convert my energy into something progressive. I’ve also found that I am able to increase my velocity while biking, firing at 100% over limited periods of time. For example, being able to ride at full-strength for 45 seconds, before returning back to my original pace. This exercise has allowed me to mimic opening the tank when skating or running, helping me fire my system up and push beyond what is possible. The pure force behind the initiative has helped build tremendous cardio and strength beyond anything I have ever experienced before.
Running has also been a key aspect in this entire process. The ability to go outside, absorb the sun, and jog 8km a day. The wear and tear on my shins and knees were an original concern, however, with everything I have been doing, the risk has diminished. I feel more power in my legs than ever before in my entire life. This gives me the confidence that I can continue to push my body to new limits, all the while resting and recuperating properly. Rest and recovery are two of the most important factors in this entire process, without a doubt. Watching what I eat every single day, as well as making sure to get my full rest and sleep, have done wonders. I also have access to a massage gun, which I abuse every single day. This has allowed my muscles to relax and breathe, giving my body a chance to catch up to my mind in the pursuit of excellence.
Overall, I do not know what the future holds for me. Nobody can be certain. Regardless, I plan on facing it at full force. I plan to accumulate as much power and strength as possible, so that I may face every single challenge I come across, head on. Opportunities will present themselves, and when they do, I must be prepared. Confidence stems from the knowledge that you have done all that you can in order to achieve your goals. My goals are certain, no question about it. I am stubborn, yet flexible, in achieving them. The blood and sacrifice I continue to put it, will pay dividends. I am slowly becoming exactly who I am meant to be.
Glory Be to God,
Amen.
