Moldy Cheese 🧀

 What an interview.

Like everybody else who’s been following, some things help shape the culture for the better. Sometimes, things which come forth are meant to be seen by the entire world, to better help understand what is really going on. I feel somewhat relaxed and at ease after watching a 2 hour interview halfway across the world. Go figure. Something about it had made me realize that perhaps we’re all gonna make it, after all.

History is such a fascinating subject. What truly stands out to me about it all, is the detail. The events which have taken place in order for us humans to get to where we are today, are astounding. So much has happened, and so much has had to go right, just to get to where we are. Which means we should all feel extremely fortunate and grateful that we get to live the lives we currently do, regardless of how things are going personally. We are literally the product of thousands of years. Years, of blood, sweat and tears, just to get to where we are today. Billions upon billions of people have had to lay down their lives, in order for us to get to where we are. They had to pave the road for humanity to step forward and flourish, to rise above the noise and become the civilization it has blossomed into.

Nothing is perfect, that’s for sure. Today’s world still has a ton of injustice, corruption, and unnecessary violence running wild. However, I still believe that we are at least better than we once were. Politics aside, the world has slowly advanced at a rate not fathomable from the past. The growth has been exponential, mostly thanks to advancements in technology. It truly is remarkable how far we’ve come, in such a short amount of time. Honestly, when you step back and take a look at the bigger picture, you can’t help but feel amazed. We are a bunch of animals, throwing rocks and sticks at each other, who have evolved beyond recognition. The ability to conjure fire, to build huts and communities, to hunt and farm. The progression is out of this world, literally. Most of it has all occurred within the past 200 years. It’s pure insanity. Life here on Earth is an absolute dream, and we should all be grateful for it.

Often, I wonder, what would life be like, living so many years back? When reading and learning about all the struggles which humanity has had to go thru, in order to get to today, it becomes tough to truly imagine. We as humans have this tendency to view things like a movie or television show, where everything is just a story, just a form of entertainment. I suppose we can thank television for completely and utterly ruining our brains. History comes off as a sort of novel or series, which more or less exists, then wraps up and moves on. Seldomly, do we sit and actually ponder what it would be like, living in those eras. We tend to disassociate with the characters of the past, believing that they simply were robots or machines which completed their tasks and then moved on. That they somehow laid down the path for us, and that their cognitive abilities were far inferior to ours. It truly is insanity, the way we hold ourselves up on such a pedestal.

I often wonder what the people of the past did for fun. We today have been saturated with non-stop entertainment and noise, which basically consumes our lives. Obviously, we’ve reached an extreme to say the least. However, I always catch myself wondering how those people who cam before us used to do in order to pass the time. What kind of activities did they partake in? What was their go-to methods to help them disconnect from the world around them, and relax? Perhaps that last statement is a part of the answer. Perhaps they did not need to disconnect, because they weren’t looking to escape their own reality. Honestly, however you want to slice it, I stand by the notion that they were far superior my every measure. They held the ability to simply exist in the world, something we as a species struggle to do today. Imagine, working 12 hour shifts, physical labour, grinding away, only to come home and literally have nothing waiting on you. No Netflix, no laptop, no internet. Simply a dark, candle-lit room and moldy cheese. Not ideal.

The world is so different nowadays, it truly is impossible to wrap your head around it. The very structure of the world in which we live in has been completely rewritten. As fortunate as we are, I always can’t help but feel like we are slowly getting weaker and weaker as the years fly by. That the will of men has been bent out of shape. That we the people no longer hold the abilities we once worked so hard to achieve. As if we have been neutered. That our very own souls have been snipped, right before our eyes. Realistically, that’s exactly what has happened. However, that is a completely different can of worms- one which I won’t dive into today.

Imagine how much we as individuals would be able to achieve, if we weren’t so distracted 24/7. Imagine, that all we had was the world in front of us. That we would be forced to face the demons within ourselves, and exercise them. That reality became our own channel, and escape was not a viable option. I wonder what the world would look like today?

In reality, things would probably stay the same. No matter how you slice it, the inevitable is simply, well … inevitable. Perhaps we were always meant to walk down this path. Hard men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times. The never-ending cycle of life. Make no doubt about it- we are in the period of weak men. We are struggling to find meaning in everyday life.

Our reality has been completely hijacked and altered,

because our minds have become weak.

May God have mercy on us all,

                    Amen.
