Molotov-Ribbentrop 2.0 🤝

Is this what it felt like, when Nazi Germany marched into Poland and split the country in half, in agreement with the USSR?      Was the pre-determined agreement, between both the National Socialist and Bolshevik parties, a similar celebration of conquest as that which we have witnessed in the past 48 hours? Two different scenarios, two different governments- and yet, I cannot help but wonder if these victories are more similar than they appear.      The American conquest of Venezuela is something which feels eerily similar to the conquests of the past. When Nazi Germany and the USSR agreed upon taking a foreign country and occupying their land, did the people of both nations cheer as their forces moved forward? Were the German and Soviet citizens excited at their new conquest? Were they celebrating their great victory, as the country of Poland fell with little to no resistance?        Regardless of the different scenarios, and more impo...

What If ...? 🌎

What If …?      We have reached yet another turning point in World History and Geopolitical relations. Everyday, we seem to be veering towards a guaranteed conflict. The question has no longer become a matter of if, but simply- when?      To build a new world, one must first tear the old one down. This is a theory which has been executed countless times, throughout history. When first observing the Napoleonic Wars, in the 1800’s, we quickly see a determined man venture across Europe and conquer the Motherland. This incredible act of determination and will essentially dismantles the European continent, and reshapes its borders, laws, regulations and powers. The entire continent shifts, and from the ashes of the rise and fall of the French Caesar, a new world is born.      The same can be seen from World War I & II. The reality is, that both these major conflicts were in effect a continuation of one another. With the forces of Austri...

The Old World Dies 🪦

The death of a nation no longer goes out with a bang . The destruction of a country and its people is no longer measured by guns or swords. The destruction of what our ancestors have built will not be conquered via force. The true, final blow will be that of a nation neutered; too weak to push back and take back what is theirs to own.      A great man once spoke about how the fall of nations begins once the individuals begin to put their own wants and desires above their fellow countrymen . As an individual who grew up, believing that life was all about finding what it is we wish to accomplish, I strongly disagreed. The thoughts and beliefs of being an individual who was born to pursue their own path, at whatever cost, was engrained within my DNA. I wanted to find something that allowed me to pursue my dreams and potential, with zero regards to whatever it was others around me pursued. Now, I no longer believe that to be true.      The p...

Build Tomorrow, Today ⚒️

The Future of Optimism        Peter Thiel talks about the future, and the optimistic or pessimistic view each group holds, in his book Zero to One. It’s an incredible way to view and understand the world, in a light which we often miss when living within our homeland.        The idea that each country, and by extension its people, view the future with a different lens, is unique. Although it may seem sheltered, most individuals seem to not differentiate between how each region has a different opinion on what lays ahead for humanity. Growing up in Canada, I’ve always simply believed that the world held similar beliefs or goals towards what they wished to accomplish in the not-so-distant future. About how we all wish to achieve abundance and wealth, through medicine and technology, to build a better world. How we all share a common belief that the future which lays ahead is one where prosperity for all is possible. Where we as human beings ca...

Sunday Thoughts 💭

Quiet Desperation      Holding on to each and every breath, waiting for a moment. Praying for a day, that never truly comes.      The lives of the men who came before me, constantly living in a world of despair. From daily interactions, to the simply milestones of life- an act so simple, yet dark in nature. The very thought of a moment, where a breakthrough finally occurs. And yet- it never happens.      Praying for a miracle leads most men desperate. They live their lives, believing that their faith will be rewarded. Stumbling, day after day, hoping that our Creator will bless them with abundance, as the tides of fortune finally turn their direction. So long they pray, until finally- their days become no more.      A never-ending cycle of desperation. Where belief has scarred over into complacency. A pipe dream of a world in which they live in, slowly fades into he shadows forever again.      How many of ...

What Comes Next? 🇺🇸

We’ve reached a turning point.        Yet again, another obstacle has presented itself in the path towards a peaceful and prosperous future. The never-ending campaign of division, has yet again reached new heights. After all the chaos, after all the violence, only one question remains- what comes next, now?      The reality that we now face, here in the West, is grim. The path forward in which we as a people get to continue our lives, is shrinking quicker by the day. As more time erodes, so does the option of making peace with those who we call our neighbours. Those who we walk beside in the streets. Those who we share an office-space with during our breaks. Those who we participate with during our extracurricular activities and leisures. The dream of continuing, as is, is fading— fast.      For close to 100 years, we have lived in relative peace within our society. Minus the odd outburst or spontaneous combustions- here in the West, we ...
